My gearbox has a nasty noise, anybody had any experience with 1st Gear Transmissions in Dartford (they are supposed to be specialised on VW gearboxes) or any other recommendations in the Orpington, Kent area?

I think is the input shaft bearing probably, is whining in almost all gears and when is stationary rattles a bit when the clutch pedal is not pushed. Otherwise the gearbox works OK. The car is a Fabia Elegance 2005 1.4 16V with 36K miles.

pretty sure thats who we use sometimes at work if it is then really good service! always have a good laugh with them when we go up there, seem really knowledgeable and normally really quick turnaround too
