[Tell that to all the idiots who drive in winter mornings with NO lights on. I can guarantee to see them everyday. They obviously don't look at their dashboards. I have HID's in my Scooby and never been flashed once so there's not much of an argument.]

Winter mornings?? depends if visibility is less than 100 meters.

HID's are just illegal plain and simple no matter how much you argue that they are aligned correctly blah blah.

I do agree with you on this to a certain point, latest models with or without that crystal ball lens, if lowered just a tad either on headlight or with inside button, it will not blind anyone except when, maybe, going uphill (even original xenon does this, seems it blinds)

Donnot get any flashes with mine

I did also put the tick (pattern of beam) to half using the leaver inside the headlight

Hids in general, from what I hear, during rainy days are worse than normal bulbs, they make everything glow more

Grizzle, If I wanted a debate on the legalities of HID's I would have asked for that. I did however ask if anyone had experienced similar problems getting this kit to work on FL Octavia's, so if you can't offer anything on this please keep your comments on another topic.

Cheers

I've got non canbus ones, got the car coded with VCDS and have no problems at all. I've got canbus LED Sidelights in as you can't code them

Cars with DRL's blind you more than people with HIDs, not so much Skodas, mostly Ford, Audis and Mercs.

Don't bite. Someone always parachutes into a HID thread complaining about legality even though it's been covered a million times. Then we get a long winded argument about whether washers need fitting, which cars with OEM xenons don't have them, reflector vs projector, blah blah blah.

Wouldn't be so bad but people on both sides of the fence always leave with the same preconception they arrived with, so nobody really benefits from the bickering.
