central locking prob

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just joined and have a problem with my central locking.

When i press the remote the doors can be opened but the boot won't.

I can open the boot manualy but its getting a little annoying.

Can anyone help

what trim level do you have? ie 'comfort,' 'ambient' or 'elegance'. AFAIK you might have a three button remote but it doesn't always mean it will open the boot depending on the trim level if I recall.

Sometimes the boot opening needs to be set in the convenience module coding: My Leon didn't do it until recoded.

The car is a 03 plate comfort that i paid extra to have central locking.

How do i go about setting boot opening in the module coding

just thought has the rear boot got its own fuse.

On my 2000 Fabia Elegance spec A previous owner had it programmed so that if you press the unlock once, it will only unlock the drivers door, you press it twice and it will unlock everything else.

With the 3 button remote...

Top and bottom button lock/unlock doors and boot. Unlock can be coded to open only the driver's door on the first push, the rest on a second push.

Middle (boot) button requires press and hold... and the boot should pop open.... Assuming your's has that feature.

Ask someone with VCDS to check the coding for you.

Guys, it's mechanical too, not only electrical :) Mine did something similar. Try applying solid grease to the locking mechanism on the boot and then exercise the lock. In the early stages, only the hand release worked, then pressing only in a certain area, then nothing at all.
