Featured Replies

Hey all :hi:

Well i thought i start up a build/mod thread for the yeti so i can see it progresses through the build the plan is to build the ultimate 2wd yeti  ( we well see if i can do it :wonder: )

Well it's yeti 1.2 TSI elegance in corrida red with the black onyx leather

I pick it up on the 25th August 2012

My first mod was to fit a full set of textile floor mat & spare wheel, tool kit & floor to the yeti ( not a fan of the tyre repair kit  )
then on the 1st September i fitted front & rear mud flaps

and some new skoda badges to the front grille & wheels i think the new skoda badges look good

Then on the 8th September i fitted some silvatec bulbs to the rear indicators & silver stubby aerial

Then on the 15th September i printed the TSI on the engine in silver

The next mods well be to fit the insulation to the under side of the bonnet & fit a cover to the battery

Hope it all goes well. Be interested to know if the underside bonnet insulation makes much difference to the sound level in the car, particularly on the motorway. Please keep updating!

What insulation are you going to use?

It's a one piece factory molded thing, I thought you were going to get some of that foil backed noise killer type stuff the Land Rover boys use. :)

You need the kick plates. My dads got them in his and it makes a massive difference to the looks.

Congratulations!!!

Very nice! The battery cover... where did you get?

Is some improvement with the bonnet insulation? I am very interested also, about this. Thanks.

I unclipped the factory fitted insulation and stuck some bitumastic pads to the underside of the bonnet and stuck some extra sound insulation on top and then refitted the original sound proofing. OK I had to push the clips a bit harder but it looks factory original still.

I also fitted noise killer to the boot floor under the spare wheel plus a few pads too.

I'm impressed how quiet the Yeti is. Quieter than my Tiguan 170 six speed manual.
