Side airbags...just checking

Featured Replies

I've just ordered a new VRS FSI and I just wanted to double check...it does have rear side airbags as standard right?

Edited by Branchie68

The side airbags are deployed from the sides of the front seats.

For rear side impact protection you should add curtain airbags to your order...

Ah...so there's no form of airbag protection for the rear passengers then?

Not as standard, no.

(except the L&K which gets the curtain airbags as standard).

Curtain airbags are a factory fit cost option on all other models (except the Blackline special edition).

Thanks for the help. I've ordered a car with options already set no no way of adding curtain airbags unfortunately.

Just as an aside, your new vrs will be a TSI, rather than FSI.

Depends how far along your order is. There may still be opportunity to add them, check with your dealer.

The car is already built and destined for the UK. It's in Germany at the moment. So near...yet so far!

Ah OK - you're too late then! ;)

You should have asked here sooner :D

I didn't spec the car myself or I'd have got them. I didn't want to wait the crazy 16 weeks my dealer quoted for a factory build. There were 3 petrol VRS available so I picked the 1 with the extras I wanted most.
