Hullo!

Featured Replies

Just joined this site as I today bought a Black Fabia vRS, also own a Honda Integra Type-R (at the moment). I have been very impressed with the test drives of the Fabia. I am looking forward to diesel power

Hello and Welcome:D

Welcome to Briskoda. It will be interesting to have your thoughts in due course on how the 2 cars compare. :)

Welcome.

Welcome:)

Will you be keeping both cars ?

Hi guys! thanx for the replies! With regards to keeping both cars.....I am not sure at the moment.....I do love the Teg and it was only ever intended to be a weekend car. However I have changed my old beater for a rather smarter Ferbie so I think it depends whether I can afford that luxury, also my Teg has seriously low mileage for its year (32k for a MY99) and there appears to be alot of demand currently for low mileage tegs :)

What I am looking forward to though is testing the two cars head to head using my bro as the other driver. Once the Ferbie has been run in I will let you guys know how it went......I am convinced that in-gear acceleration will be alot closer than the on-paper figures suggest :D

Chip the Furby, then side by side test :D

Fabia Vrs during the week and Teg for weekends and track days would niceeee.

Thanx for the replies, yes I guess the cars are a little like chalk and cheese......one high revvin no torque, the other low revvin all torque :D

I have to admit I have alot more confidence with high speed cornering in the Teg......but I also aboslutely love driving the Fabia, the ooomph on the straights through the gears is incredible.

I had the classiest first journey home from picking it up today. Dude in shades in his 'Audi TT roadster' decides to show his lass just how easy it is to overtake in his open top pudding bowl (only kidding any tt owners). He got a bit of a shock when he nearly ran out of road and had to really boot it (change down) in order to make the manouver. Girlfriend looks round to look at the front of my car.......may be she didn't know it was a Skoda!!! HAHAHAHAA it was priceless.....

Loved to have heard their conversation.......But Julian I thought you said it was going to be really easy.........HAHAHAHA.....class

Hmmm the Type R ??? Nice car

BTW , I own a very nice Cap of the german Type R (Civic) Racing Team

since last weekend ...

Swapped it for my Viking Helmet which might be worn by a Teccie now :D

So, a warm welcome :)

I used to own a Type-R. THE most manic car I have ever driven. It doesnt wake up till about 5,500 RPM and then it just screams till late 8,000! awesome car, but you really do have to thrash it it to get it going.

I remember having alot of fun with a Lancia Delta HF Integrale. Its that quick - a bog standard furby is a little out of its depths there... In gear i suppose it wouldnt be embarrased too much...

Ahhh yes... I too remember the VTEC moments in the Integra. Found the rear spoiler just the right height to hide following police cars though!

yeah, i remember toying with a Cavalier something or other (the sporty ish one from the early 90's) and we were at about 1??MPH and then I saw a white volvo with a roof rack rapidly gaining ground. Oh, no Volvo police car. I pulled in front of traffic in middle lane to hide break lights (dont know why that might of helped!!) and he flew past and pulled the cavalier driver... Bye bye license....

Moral of the story 1 - dont speed, but if you do follow someone else then they'll get clocked.

Moral of the story 2 - dont own a Vauxhall. I think...?
