So took the Ka for an Mot yesterday failed on a worn bush and corroded brake pipe ,and noticed the right speaker was not working. Most of the ice companies wanted 35 quid just to look, so I investigated, took the door cards off again and tried right speaker in the left side and worked, so I new it was not that.If the head unit goes down usually both sides will not work so must be a wire. I had a good look along the wires and there is a connector to the door, so unplugged that and took a speaker with wire from the house ( did not posses a multimeter ) and that worked too. So it must be the wire from the door to the speaker, so I ordered a new one, luckily the wire had a part number wrapped around it on a piece of paper. I sliced the rubber back of the old one and revealed straight away the broken wire, car body end . I thought I would have to glue the old rubber back around it, but new one came with it already on! a refreshing changer for a part to be complete , even though the rubber and plastic moldings to attach to car has a separate part number. Anyway fitted and working now, old one, 2012-10-16124505.jpg
