Stopped by police

Featured Replies

Driving towards home today after a family day out, I see Passat Estate traffic car parked up in side road and a little while later find it had caught up with me through a village. Obviously I am careful with speed etc so think nothing of it. Next thing I know, I get flashing lights so I pull over on to a garage forecourt (while some baseball capped chavs in a Pug 306 are grinning at me), heart in my mouth at this time.

Anyway, officer walks over and say "nothing to worry about" but starts quizing me how long I have had the car, he already knows my address so must have had the car checked, and I confirm my name. After a quick check around the front of my car he tells me they (this being the Hampshire force) are looking for a yellow Octavia and so stopped me as they are pretty rare sights. So somewhere a yellow Octy has been up to no good. Fortunately it wasn't me!

Its not good when it is coming down to the vRS being known to the "rozzers".

I like to nosey around Police Auctions on the internet and the vRS (Both Furby and Octy) are now starting to creep on there from stolen/recovered incidents, or other non law abiding shananigans.

I just hope we are not replacing the Impreza as the scrotes car of choice.

I do spose you are driving a high velocity banana.

sounds more like they just wanted to check and gave you a random excuse. busy body bobbies

And it isn't me either officer:D .

I got stopped on my way home from work on Friday afternoon, apparently due to some tail-slide whilst taking a tight corner very quickly - I was in the gf's Audi A4 S-Line - but I'm sure the Octy usually makes it round with all 4 wheels glued to the road - bet I would still have got pulled though !

Can't see me being car napped at gunpoint for my skoda

Might have to take the vRS badges off,get steel wheels with some nice Halfords wheel covers and a rug for the back seat

Works for me...

Except on the remote highland islands of Skye and Mull where my car was identifed with amazing precision by an wise old garage man on skye and a goth in ballamory.

Was amazed both times...the 1.4 badge sort of works...sadly the spoiler, white wheels, drilled and grooved brakes with green calipers don't help.

You need an SDI badge, grubby wheels and no spoilers young Colin ;) Fools them every time :D

The prof reckons it needs a spoiler of some sorts...I want to remove it all together.

Mind I'd of thought Lee's was fairly unique.

I was quizzed once because I had a yellow 2CV - must be the colour... :)

Must be that then.....

Definitely - I used to own a yellow Accent MVi  and got pulled by a copper on foot for having my fog lights on during the day (I know! - Just bought the car so had a play)! He didn't even have a bike and he pulled me! :finger:
