vauxhall 3.0 12v

Featured Replies

anybody know anything about tuning on these?

It's a 3.0 and it's only got 12 valves - sounds like major tuning potential right there! Get it a new head...

2 valves per cylinder, thats good isn't it

Are you sure it's not 24v? Most 3 litre VX engines are 24v, could be a rare-un though.

the 24v came later in the scheme of things, been told its a 12v but don't actually know myself

We talkin about the old Vaux senator/Carlton?

The straight sixes that vauxhall did were the old 2.6 and 3.0l 12v

then later they did the 24v which was 204bhp as used in the carlton GSI.. which was ace.. rwd with lsd.

as for tuning.. not much ya can do, usual NA tuning potential.. once your past filter/zorst, you end up changing cams and stuff... the 24v is much nicer for tuning :D

I had a omega elite with the 24v 3.0 v6 in it. Was a big barge!!

Was very quick and would surprise your clio/saxo/nova drivers!

Best tuning potential on those is a super charger (someone does a kit for them, i'll look it up)

its the engine from a gsi but a 12v gsi, the car the engine is going into already has an lsd :D

its a cdx estate with heated seats, electric windows all round, electric sunroof, air-con, thought he saud electric seats too but not sure about that.

the paint work needs attention but the rest is actually pretty good nick and all working, good buy at
