Front Underside of Monte Carlo

Featured Replies

Hi I have recently purchased a 6 month old fabia monte Carlo. Im wondering if anyone knows of something that can be used to protect the front underside of car as it's scraping due to a slight dip in the road coming off the driveway. Any ideas would be a great help. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

??What is actually scraping?

Can someone else drive while you watch?

Is it Bodywork or engine/sump, or what exactly?

Anything that protected it would be a bit lower and also scrape, possibly scrape too much.

That would be a 'Sump guard'.

Solutions,

Is this with Driver and Passengers in the car?

Passenger gets out when going into, out of the driveway.

Taller tyres, but these will effect your gearing.

so possibly

Slightly longer/higher coil springs, but that will possibly effect your handling.

Re-profile the drive/slope possibly.

Thanks George. It's an apartment block so not much chance of getting the drive done. As I pull out the road has a dip and the front just scrapes on the road slightly. Just wondered if there was any kind of rubber guard that could be put on just to stop the scratches.

If it is the Front Chin, then yes you could stick something on that might stay.

My suggestion in.

'Sill Guard Tape' it is about 4" Wide thin Rubber with double sided tape.

Around £6 a roll. i use it for a variety of Uses.

Car parts shop. (Not very thick or tough but lasts a while.)

Or for a Quick fit.

Bumper/Body work protection Trims. £5 or so in Halfords,

or £1 in a £1 shop.

It is if they will stay on under the Chin.

A Body work Shop will have the Panel Glue that might allow them to stay stuck on under the front spoiler chin.

Black 'Bostik' might work OK as a DIY.
