I've been to look at a new mini today. After the test drive I've decided I'm going to jump ship. It really has shown the fabia up in the handling department!

I've been offered £5250 p/x. It's a vrs se with 74k on the clock, full ssh. Is this a good price or am I better off trying to sell it private?

Yes they handle like a go-kart - can't fault you there - but think about the rubbishy uncomfortable seats, ride and your back.

It's got the chilli pack mate so half leather sports seat. Will miss the fabia but won't miss the creaks, bangs, rattles and the jelly like handling!

What it loses on the straights it makes up for in the corners. Just gonna have to get used to not having bucket loads of torque at my right foot!

There's about 3 on Autotrader asking 7.5k for similar-ish mileage. Take a look. Pay for Freedom here and you might be able to sell it privately.

I went the other way. Had a Mini Cooper D and sold it and got a vRS.

I miss the old Mini as like you say the handling is brilliant, however the vRS has so much more poke, the Mini seemd to run out of go pretty quick.

One major bonus is women love the Mini, the reactions you get are like walking around with a kitten or a puppy

worse looking car in the world, the interior looks like a giant turd.

Plus for not too much dosh the VRS handling can overtake the Mini's

I had a Mini JCW after a couple of Cupra Tdi's - only kept it a year, was fun but not at all practical, absolutely no room, really thirsty too. I didnt think anything could match it on handling though until my current Fabia, albeit it has some expensive suspension on it!!
