Hi guys

I cannot switch my heater direction from the footwell! Just wanting to make sure I am right in changing the heater controls.

Anyone had this problem ? There isnt anything else I need to consider is there.

Fabia mk1 with climatic will use a cable system to adjust the direction of air flow. Climatronic systems (dual zone) use electric motors.

I wouldn't just replace the controls outright - I would check the cable hasn't snapped/the flaps aren't jammed/the knob is not broken!

Take the unit out and have a look is the easiest way! It's just 4 screws under the centre console and pop the front panel off. The only problem you may have is that there is no slack in the connections behind (there wasn't in mine) so I had to take the centre console and lower dash trim out to get behind it! There are guides on here to do it!

Mine isnt climatronic. Its a vrs but only has manual dials.

Sorry read ur post whilst working so mis read. I think the knob has broken tbh. Ive had the controls out and cable seems fine. The knobs adjust but nothing changes.

And if you turn the cable by hand?

Ok so took the tray and stereo out and to the back the purple plug isconnected to the blowers but the grey plug isnt connected. Ive felt around thinking surely I will find where it should go being that it is only short and cant reach that far but I can't find where it goes.

Anyone anyone had to do reconnect theirs before?

Sounds to me like the other end of the cable has come off. Take the centre console out, the cable heads upwards. The cable actually rotates twice so make sure when you push it on the heater box end you have the flap in the right position or the controls will be backwards.

Posted it in here, welcome ur thoughts on it if u have come across it.

Steering wheel light fault. Engine management light and randomly fuel light bleeping even with fuel in. Arrghh

Oh and speedo goes off when steering wheel light comes on. Turn key reset and goes off but again as soon as power steering light comes on the speedo stops working
