New to forum fabia 1.9sdi

Featured Replies

Hi all i have just purchased a fabia 1.9sdi 113k 53reg i will be using it for work and the family so dont really want to mod it as such. Alloys maybe. but was wondering if there was anything i could do to increase the bhp a little and increase mpg at the same time. i traded in my focus 1.8 petrol so already its like night and day

cheers Bobz

It would be hard to improve economy. They can be remapped, but I've never met anyone whose done it, so can't comment on the value. remember completely different to petrol so watch the rev counter to stay in the torque band - much lower revs than you've been used to.

Alright bobz welcome to the forum, you bought an sdi, its for economy, and only that, so........... leave as it is and enjoy not having 25mpg and push it up near 65mpg.

Ill pop round to yours next week and do egr delete/clean inlet clean, and elephant mod for starters, plus get some good oil in there.

See ya over the weekend pal.

I've had a polo sdi in the past, I got rid of it because I couldn't live with the non existent acceleration, very economical 60+mpg easily. I bought a tuning box micro processor from tdi-tuning UK, it didn't feel as flat anyway and top end in 5th gear felt much stronger. I still have the tuning box here - it connects onto the 10 pin plug fitted to the fuel pump, some have 8 pins I believe.
