How much would NEW Fabia vRS hubs be?

Featured Replies

I can't be bothered to ring "normally couldn't give a f***" dealer", so wondered if anyone knew how much a pair of Fabia vRS front hubs might set me back. Obviously this must be the bit which allows the removal brake carrier. ;)

Jason

I have a pair of .....

Front hubs

Front Shockers with springs

All from a 1.9Tdi Fabia if this helps - are they the same as the vRS?

Plus the cradle/steering rack/wishbones calipers etc

Give me a shout if this helps

Cheers

Mike

They would be the same as his, no good.

Yeah, Mike, he wants to fit the larger brakes and for that he needs the vRS hubs. Else I'd have done the same by now.

Yeah - I need the hubs without the fixed incorporated brake carriers, and the related FSIII "unmoddable without major work" braking system. :(

I just want to know how much the hubs would be? I know of a nice complete braking system that would be ideal for my car... Problem is its about 1000 miles away. :(

Where is 1000 miles Jason? Anywhere near me?

The wheel hubs seem to be common across much of the Fabia range. Are you talking about the wheel bearing housing, common to the vRS and 2.0 only, which cost

I don't think many people here understand the relationship between me and my car. Its gone way beyond "wanting a vRS" now.... I just occaisonally need to nab some parts to keep going. :D

I agree jason, keep up the good work. I too get attached to my cars. The more you do to them the more you get attached. A vRS just wouldn't be the same...

Jason...for what it's worth, fit some bloomin big disks and pads on the fronts, the backs will be over braked then and the problem will be over come :D

no quotes when you go round and round...but honestly a few of the people I have spoken to recently report as many problems as fixes with over powering the fronts, desire is to reduce the rear braking power.

Might not help, but it's another angle...

I know you like you car, it's looking mint in a way :D

Just need a better ability to stop in general, and DS2500s soon cook my discs on trackdays, so need something with some BITE. ;)

The 1000 mile away car........

Could do with the airbagsx2 dashtop and pretensioners.

Are you still after the remapped engine - Jason

If anyone needs front end Fabia parts, give me a shout

Steering Rack / Wishbones /Cradle

Front shocks and springs complete

Both driveshafts with hubs and calipers

All from a 1.9Tdi Fabia 5 speed

And to that you need to add wheel bearings and fitting.

Fitting will be cheap enough. ;) Bearings I hadn't accounted for! :( :thumbdwn: What would that set me back then?

Who's going to do the fitting then?

And dont forget *another* 4wheel alignment after..

and cost of the actual braking kit (

Bite or cook?

If your getting fade on braking then it's fluid....discs can be manufactured or sourced from a few places...but would still be dependant on the weak spot of the fluid.

Won't get much more aggression in pads good for road use than the 2500 or equivilent. Not with standing pad size and caliper power will help if done all round and balanced...I'd go forchecking my fluid 6 100 - 20 (omg I need to stop force) stops sould tell you.
