R32 Arb 2nd hand

Featured Replies

So, how much should I be offering my mate for his arb off his absolutely minty R32 that he's currently upgrading fella's?

Don't wanna rip the guy off, but don't want to give him silly money either.

Sold mine for about 65 iirc

Flippin' eck. Okay, I'll offer him £60 if it's as mint as the car and see what happens.

Is there anything else I'll need to change to fit to a vRS other than the arb bushes themselves?

And what size bushes should I be going for, for a nice tight fit? (I'll be using Superpro if they do them big enough)

23mm for the r32 bar.

Nothing else needed unless you got the old style brackets with the plastic sheeth. Iirc they dont have a small ridge in the middle like the newer ones.

I would offer half of RRP!! But I am cheeky!!

If it helps this is what we sell a new R32 front ARB for :)

Awesome Mike

That's fair enough. Cheers Mike. Will need a Neuspeed rear at some point in the future too, but currently unemployed, so out of the question at the mo.

I offered him £55, and he's bitten at it when he gets round to it. Trouble is, he's been offered an M3 at a good price, so I'm trying to talk him into keeping the R32. It really is peachy mint. And blue. Yummy.

Mmm but if its an e46 m3 then sorry but r32 goes bye bye.

Good luck charming him mate. Thars a good price that

yup i agree with billy, i would perhaps even swap my mk2 golf for a good e46 m3, my mate has one, its fecking awesome, he let me drive it, his brother has a 911, and a scirocco r, and a modded tt, and we did a road test with all of them recently as we are tracking the m3 soon, the m3 is just something else! Can get them for silly money now too. Its just they have a bad image, thats what makes me not want to like them but when you drive it, that all disappears!

Are they really 130 now???? jeez! I paid about 90 from avs for my r32 front bar. I would say 55-60 is fair.

I wouldnt fit it till you get the rear bar to match dude, it will really mess up your handling! Yes superpro do the correct bush.

just changed my bushes again and fitted super pro on my R32 ARB.

doing a guide but easy, and found another tip to speed up changing them

my super pro only lasted 2 years

2 years....damn thats quick!

thats a serious car you have there dude!

wonder what the e92 m3 is like, cant think yours is gonna be much slower!

that car is awesome, they did a few german race versions iirc that ran the v8...

It's not bad, but a bit off the pace of an E92 M3. It is pretty close to the E46 M3 though (we nearly bought a nice black one with red leather, bit it was just a little bit weathered in comparison, and we really didn't want the ridiculous service bills). Hers is currently still running the horrid run-flats on it though, so it is bloody harsh. But once they're worn out and replaced with mans tyres (at a little over £700 as opposed to over £1200) should be a lot nicer.

Standard 308bhp, easily remappable to 370bhp (but apparently potentially a bit tough on the fuel pump) and the handling is infackingcredible. I'd say it was as planted as my brothers old 54 plate blueprinted and slightly breathed upon 911 (993) turbo that he had, but obviously without the power.

The one thing is could probably do with is an LSD, but since it's the wife's car, this ain't gonna happen. ;)

Have to fit my R32 Farb but still need a simpletons guide. All the guides seem unclear on what needs jacking up and where to drop the rear of the front subframe.

I know buddy, bring it down to very stiff chassis and the TT front and castor bushes putting more stress on ARB

They were not completly shot but enough to cause a knock.

I did not need to drop subframe to replace bushes but yep need to, to replace the ARB. I have pics somewhere and will knock up a guide easy

Having driven E46 and E92 325i's, and owning a current E92 335iSE, I'd have to remortgage and go for the E92 though if I were to do something quite that silly. There's just worlds between the two models.

Having said that, how about this wee beastie...

you barsteward dude, i can't get this m3 out of my head, its frigging awesome:>so how is the e92 much better exactly? its not like the e46 is bad to start with, was well impressed at how well a 325 drives, let alone the m3!

It's a whole new ball game with the E92's in comparison the the 46's (although I can't speak of the differences between M3's because I haven't driven an E92 M3, yet!!!!). There were soooo many changes to the range, and it just feels soooo much more planted and unshakeable, proper tank like and solid.

Heavy, yet super stable.

And yeah, that M3 on the bay looks utterly incredible. When sorted that thing has the potential to be one of the most amazing cars that the average working man could ever own. Not sure what happened though, item ended, yet no bids? I don't think it was really up for auction. More a publicity stunt to create attention. It could well actually be for sale though, I suppose...
