Near Miss?

Featured Replies

I'm a little concerned as when I went to unlock my car yesterday the barrel just spun as I turned the key, Turning the key clock-wise the barrel spins freely and slides out, while trying to turn it counter clock-wise it won't budge. So I can no longer unlock my car from the drivers door and have to do it from the passenger side; which 24 hours later is already a pain in the arse.

Basically, did someone try to break into my car and break the lock, or does this sort of thing just happen sometimes?

Thanks

Will

Hi, I suspect it's not someone tampering. Our Fab is currently like this and yes it's a real pain having to do everything through the passenger door. I'd say 60-70% of the Skodas I've owned have at some stage had lock related problems. It's probably a broken lug/linkage within the mechanism and will require you/others to enter the door card etc. It's typically not expensive to fix just a little fiddly.

Good luck

Give it I squirt of wd40 or something like that. My felly done that. Was fine after a quick spray.

+1 What Rob said. ;)
