Hi

I have been reading a lot (and hearing a lot) about the Fabia vRS and was wondering if some of you might be able to help answer a few queries i have before i test drive the car later this week.

The official figures state that the 0-60 time is 9.5 secs but i read a lot on the net saying that this figure is misleading and that it may be at least a second quicker than the figure suggests. Does anyone have any thought on this?

How do you find the acceleration between gears? Does it need to be revved a lot?

HOw would you rate the handling?

Have any of you installed new seats as the ones i sat in at a recent motorshow were somewhat poor. I think they were the standard fitted option.

All the above is based on un modified cars.

Does anyone have any links to sites where i could read more about modding the v

vRS (is this aka the Furby?)

Any other snippets of info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

Just took mine around the Nurburgring & was quite impressed. Acceleration is great in mid range but no advantage in revving it out. Handling better than I expected with lots of understeer with slight but contollable oversteer at limit. I was going a lot faster than you will ever go on the road & it was OK. Steering feels too light on the road but loads up nicely on the track.

Brakes not up to the job at race speeds though.

My usual car is a Boxster but Furby still impressed me especially as I got over 50 mpg on the Autobahn getting there.

Incidentally on the Autobahn 130mph is easily possible.

I'm slim and I find that when stationary the seats don't hug you. But when driving round bends yo slide a bit in the seat and the side support is great. I drove a Golf G60 once and the seats felt great at first but they left me feeling sick after 10 minutes!

I think you need to drive a car for a while to know how supportive and comfy the seats are.
