AmD Remap - WOW!

a 1.8T Fabia would have defo caused a conflict.

I don't agree. We have a 1.8T engined Ibiza and leon last time I looked. What would be the difference? Admittedly the Furby would probably run a de-tuned 1.8T lump but the 2 cars would be bought for different reasons. I'd still have an Octy vRS even if a 1.8T engined Furby was available cos I need the extra space.

I agree with Paul it's a missed opportunity imo...

And at around 13k a 1.8T Fabia would have defo caused a conflict.

Not sure I agree.... and a 1.8T Fabia would have been a lot of fun!!!

A new Leon Cupra doesnt cost 13k though. But dont you feel SEAT may well have been better off with a smaller model range and concentrating on building cars better. To have the Ibiza FR (both diesel and petrol) and the Cupra (both diesel and petrol) all quite close to each other in terms of price seems kinda strange to me. Skoda have a smaller share of the market to play with so I guess they plump for the cars that marketing see will sel better. Plus a 1.8t Fabia in standard guise (if shares the 150 bhp FR set up) would struggle to keep up with the vRS to start with and be more costly to insure.

I wouldnt be driving a Furby vRS if it was a 1.8t, I simpley wouldnt get insured on it, and couldnt afford to run it.

I am sure there would be a lot of Furb vRS owners on here who wouldnt have the car if it was a 1.8t.

As for a missed oportunity, I am sure Skoda dont view it like that, look how well its doing ;)

You reckon? My mates Ibiza 1.8T FR was still quicker than my car was even in standard form. The insurance may not be that much more than you think either.

To be fair, I cant argue with that ;)

Insurance would be a few hundred pounds more a year I would have thought without discounts & the likes. That said, the 1.8T would tune up way higher so it all depends on what insurers would put up with :)
