Upgraded Headlights on vRS

Featured Replies

I drive an 03 plate Octavis vRS and all my front lights are misting up quite bad, so I was looking to replace them all, and i came across these which visually I really like but just wondered if anyone had come across them before, the sites a bit vauge (Unless I missed soemthing) about if they have the fogs etc etc,

I dont want to waste that much cash if they arent going to work

Are these for a LHD vehicle?

light output wise or look wise,

light output...

I don't talk about the look, everyone has a different taste

light output wise or look wise,

both to be honest you could get some second hand light lenses for the price of one of them and still have change for bighter bulbs

Second hand means theres every chance they are as bad as mine, and to be fair, the standard ones look bland,

That I never even thought about thx

Thx rather an opinion based on the function rather the looks, as you are right everyones views are different. I just thought these might give the front of the car a newer appearance, aswell as fixing my existing problems..

The beam of those aftermarket headlamps is rubbish...I've seen them all...

If you want to change the headlights have a look at gees car. He fitted the depo headlights they have projector lenses so you could fit hid kit, and not blind people...

I had HIDs in my last car but was always worried about being pulled over,

but wouldn't mind a set of Depo lights can you get them with matching indicators as they need replacing too,

Also any reccomendations on where I could find a set to buy at decent price..

its good to know, because as much as I like looks, I do like to be able to see at night, lot of roads round here with no street lamps

Hmm, I've just replaced my indicators with Depo and the shape is not quite right. They look spot on until you fit them, and the fit is a little rubbish. Perhaps if I jig my headlights around a little it might improve (since the indicators slot into both the wing and the headlights)...

where did you manage to get them from, I have googled it and keep getting posts saying people are finding them really hard to find, no actual lights for sale

That's the price for the PAIR too, but comes to just over £20 when you add VAT and carriage.

But like I said, the fit isn't so good. They don't go back quite as close to the wings, and seem to bulge out a fraction in the middle of the lens. I'm sure I could modify easy enough to make them go a little further back though, but right now I've got bigger fish to fry...

As for headlights, the Hella ones offered by Euro Car Parts are probably the same as the OEM ones...

I will sell my genuine oem xenon's and kufatec loom adaptors if the price is right

Pm me if any1 is interested

Hmmmmm...

Are they glass fronted or plastic fronted?

I might pony up if they're glass...

They are original skoda octavia vrs lights off a 2002 wrc

They are xenons and come with genuine skoda ballasts

Not cheap crummy copies and they are plastic fronted. No octavia has glass

Bah! Actually, I've just taken mine out for it's first night drive since replacing the bulbs wit' dem super duper Philips bulbs, and having finally removed those silly headlight protectors mine are working brilliantly. So I'm happy for now.

They do look pretty sick though.

Thx for the offer but I need a full set of lights indicators aswell, but as nice as yours look I have a feeling you will want more for them than I have to pay for them

Out of curiosity, will they pass the MOT being upgraded to xenons, so many new MOT laws now not sure which lights are allowed and which arent

Noooooooo, not again  ,

Check out Gee's build thread, he has already done his conversion, whereas mine is still a work in progress in final stages with the motor mounts so you can see what you need - Gee has serious skills so you can trust his advice.

They will pass

If you've got misting problems, then the seals between the lenses and glasses are going. If you know what you're doing (and I don't know well enough to describe how) you can unseal the lenses and refit them.

They will pass

are they wired in to your headlight adjuster motors, take it thats part of the kufatec loom?

No they arent but you can re-wire the headlight to accomodate this

How much would you be after Jase? Just out of curiosity.

My standard lights with Ring +120% bulbs are ok. 10 times better than standard, just still not xenon good.

Well i know it sounds out there but i want £300 collected or £325 posted

I got the lights cheap at £250 and the adaptors were £60 and i put new 4.3k bulbs in so owe me more

They are about impossible to find! Plus they look awesome
