I made one from 5mm aluminum plate and sealed it using good quality silicone sealant

Sai blanking plate? Am I correct in assuming that this makes the sai system redundant, without actually removing the system ? Is there anything else I would need to do, like take out fuse at least I would have thought. And finally, I take it no more boost leaks from this system at least as a result?

It's used simply to block Sai hose when removing the Sai system wich is prone to failure and not needed really !! Cleans bay up when done @ the same time as the simplification of the vac hoses

you can resistor the sai or you can have it mapped out with a shark remap

Hey, I am thinking of fitting a blanking plate to my EGR, (really I want to remove it if it does not do anything good apart from emissions). How would you resistor the egr to stop the light coming on? Or could I just blank and wait for an engine map? Will anything bad happen from blanking?

You can just blank and it will only cause engine light every now and again or you can map it out your choice really.
