NO......NO.............Just shows how many of you guys have never driven an old car..................

.....If you had you would have remembered that is where they put the choke lever/pull for the engine.............

Nothing better than an ice cold yorkie.

Oops. Sorry for being an idiot...

I was out at the time, and got so excited by the prospect of it doing something awesome that i forgot that the search function existed!

the machine guns would have been a nice touch.

Thanks for the replies though, both sensible and hilarious! :)

(mods, feel free to delete/move this thread somewhere more suitable.

Lets just put this down to me still being a newbie :p)

Somewhere inside that remote part of the front console is a place unknown to a lot of car users. It usually contains things like "USER MANUALS" .sORRY - Bean- with a UN like that ,I couldn't resist. I live near to a driving test centre, and regularly see candidates showing the examiners where the oil dip stick is ,etc. Perhaps we now need an idiots test to show new drivers how to find the car handbook. ( We need a kick ass smylie), but if you drive- IMHO first place to look is Manual- usually located in glove compartment in front of passenger's knee.(Been driving for 40+years- it's been there since then). Perhaps ,my bit of sarcasm could have been prevented if learners were instructed on FIRST lesson to being told how to find this info).DVLA have requirements for candidates to show examiners they can find the dipstick/ check the brake fluid etc. WHY/OH WHY no insistence on knowing where the car manual should be. :wall: :wall:

slightly OT....but do they also insist on you showing them where and how to check the PAS fluid???????

I'd like to see that on diesel engined Fabia (or the petrol 1.4 8v)..............just hold on sir while I get the tools out of the boot and remove the battery, the battery tray.....etc.......

Remember the manual might be in the hidden compartment in the glove box - which you might not find unless you read the manual! :)
