How to check the oil level in power steering?

Featured Replies

If someone has an idea? Since I found out that beneath the battery, is easy to remove plastic to reach the vessel steering wheel? Does it work DIY version or just go to a mechanic and letdscn4890kw.jpg him this?

hi there is a level line on the bottle same as your water just make sure the fluid is on the level mark if not just ad power steering or transmission fluid to the correct line.

You have to remove the battery and tray to be able to see it really.

It's not really that difficult to remove the everything to get to it though - about 4 bolts holding everything down.

PAS fluid get from VAG VW or Skoda dealer/parts........also the car needs to be on level ground and the PAS/engine not used for about 1hr to allow the fluid to cool down.............use this tie to remove the battery and supporting tray............the PAS fluid res is not visiable...onlt the green top is as the bottle is built into the chassis/crash structure............so then unscrew the top and wipe clean on a clean rag...then refit top fully and remove again....this is the reading..........the fluid when cold should just cover the bobble on the end of the stick part attatched to the underside of the screwtop.....if your top has a flat stick then it should be up to the min mark.
