Uk's biggest bhp fabia

Featured Replies

I've done some re-thinking. Best way to get a Fabia to 350 BHP is another engine in the back. Best way to drive it on the road would then be on a trailer. :)

I don't think people are yet getting 350 on the 2.0 16v engines. Darkside snuck over 300 with their Jetta. A couple of crazy people worldwide may have "done" 300-400bhp starting with a 1.9tdi. However, little remains of the original.

  • We do a gt2260vk kit also going for some dyno runs tomorrow so il try post up some figures tomorrow of our demo Fabia I would try stick vnt if I was you. Dean@dirty-torque

Or drop in a 1.8t which is not a major job as it's all VAG and fits fine.

225bhp stock, 350bhp with sensible mods and a potential 500+ if you go completely bonkers.

Bonus is the front should be lighter too giving the car a better balance.

But it's not diesel. :)

devonmikeyboys audi had 365bhp way back in 07/08 maybe even earlier!!!!

That sounds cool :) bet that pulls well at 485lbft I would love a bit of nitrous.

We have just got back from dynoing I will photo copy the print outs and show you them. We did stock injectors then firad 80+ we where very pleased with today.

Dean@dirty-torque

I have already seen the figures and its very impressive, i will let you show them though :)

Iv only just got in so not had time to scan graphs in

Went on dyno yesterday pulled these with 3 different types of injectors using a dynocom dyno. It has our turbo kit fitted plus supporting mods (intercooler, exhuast ect) stock engine head and gearbox engines done 131k

Gtb2260vk stock injectors

211.4hp @ 3950rpm 323.3ft/lbs @ 2600rpm at the wheels

243.1hp 355.7 ft/lbs at the flywheel

Gtb2260vk uprated firad 80 + (plus magic dust hehe)

285.2hp @ 4150rpm 431.6 ft/lbs @ 2950rpm at the wheels

328hp 474.7 ft/lbs at the flywheel

Gtb2260vk our custom nozzle

275.6hp @ 4750rpm 378.5 ft/lbs @ 3350rpm at the wheels

316.9hp 416.4 ft/lbs at the flywheels

Hope you all like this we went for power just to see what our turbo kit could pull :-) we are very pleased and can't wait to start trying new things to pull more power.

Thanks

Interesting 328 @ fly - I have those same injectors, and magic dust, and major headwork/cam.... Never got close to 300. What boost is that running? Mine might just need the software updating.

Interesting results speedy. Out of interest how did you go about altering the duration maps? Was it just a % increase?

We ran between 2.5 and 2.7 bar and we was on the dyno from 4 till about 9,We have a guy who does our mapping for us and Karl my brother does all the logging ect I'm the spanner man hehe.

We was hoping for 230flywheel bhp on stock and 280 flywheel on firads so you can imagine how happy and over the moon we are :)

Bet you were :)

Do you know what duration you were running at 4k on the stock nozzles?

Do you know what duration you were running at 4k on the stock nozzles?

I will let you know tomorrow as I'm at my girlfriends house tonight sorry

Cheers

2.7 - jesus?! :D

Mine peaks at about 2.2/2.3 bar at the moment.

Hehehe we are thinking of tuning it down as it does just spin and smoke is a little heavy compared to our stock injector remap but we just wanted to see what we could push and looks like we got carried away lol I would like to port and polish a head and a custom cam. But I would like a rebuilt box and LSD before anything else.

We also had slight corrosion/carbon build up on our stock injectors we didn't know this till they where removed for the firad run so we will try another set of clean stock injectors and try another run soon. We are having the stock injectors flow tested to see if the spray pattern and flow are ok if they are then we won't bother with another clean standard injecotor run.

That's what I thought Jason. That's a lot of booooooost !

Do you have and EMP gauge fitted? If so what were you getting running that boost.

No didn't have one at the time :( going to take the manifold off In a few weeks tig a egt bung and see what we are getting as we like to know also :).

Thats impressive dean! Cant wait for you to work your magic when i come down again for a map!

Well played dean.

Note:Darkside run 2.6-7 bar of boost on thir setup too, and it holds fine.

I can vouch the mappers good, he originally mapped my fabia. I don't think I'm allowed to discuss who he is, but he is very well reciwved on a global scale ;-)

We have held off from doing this for a while now after stumbling across the Dirty Torque website, but since Dean and Karl are now getting customers to plug them on the forums and also dropping hints about their turbo kits when people ask about our kits, I think it is time we tell the truth on how Dirty Torque Developments came about.

I own Darkside Developments with my bro Ryan.

Dean from DTD bought an old turbo setup from Ryan around April last year. From there he sent over 200 emails asking about everything you can imagine to do with diesel tuning. When he was down on cash we helped him out by buying some parts from him for much more than we usually would. We even sold him Powergate Tool so he could tune the ECUs as he wanted to be a 'dealer' for our products and needed us to help him set up a website to advertise the products on. He would be our ‘fitting centre’ down South.

Dean knew who we used for some of our fabrication work, and must have decided to cut us out of the picture. We later found out that Dean drove from getting a load of money from us, straight to the fabricator to discuss their new business venture!

We used this particular fabricator for 1 Manifold and some flanges. All the flanges were all bent and the manifold had very poor welding, so we decided not to use him again. Since then we have heard some horror stories of the manifolds he makes breaking and poor customer service etc.

We paid for the jig for the manifold and the CAD for the flanges so it is yet another stepping stone we created for DTD.

Since we declined to help Dean with the website (why should we help someone set up a business?), he seems to have took it upon himself to use all of our information as his own.

Take a look at their Turbo Kit listing:

http://www.dirty-tor...ts/show/3059915

Look familiar?

http://www.darksided...di-engines.html

It’s a pretty much copy and paste affair of ours in most part.

Also, did they show you their ‘Demo Car’?

‘We currently run this turbo kit on our own Skoda Fabia Vrs TDI PD130 Demo Car which achieves 235bhp /360lbsft’

photo-2.jpg

Have you seen this before? Yep you sure have:

Fabia%20(2).JPG

We fitted that kit with our own bare hands as well as doing all the tuning, it was one of the first we did. Karl, Dean’s brother bought it from the customer we did all the work for (Luke) and now they are passing it off as their work!

If price is all someone is bothered about, I am sure they will go with the DirtyTorque Kit, but we have sold 70 Turbo Kits in just over 18 months, so that shows you something. We used Brand New Genuine Garrett Turbochargers with a 1 Year Warranty, and our Manifolds and Downpipes have a lifetime warranty against cracking. You need to compare apples with apples. Their kits are a little cheaper than ours, but we don’t make a crazy amount on them, so something has got to give. You squeeze on price, you have the squeeze on quality somewhere.

I am sure Dean will come up with some crazy story about how we are lying and that everything was their own idea, but he thinks we are stupid, getting his brother and friends to email us and ring us to ask advice on what to fit etc. Its not clever, it just makes them look like novices.

They are also claiming 328bhp at the flywheel with a set of Firad 80% Injectors. I have no doubt the Injectors will do that power, but there is no way the stock head and camshaft will flow that amount of power, no matter how much fuel, NOS, Water/Meth or fairy dust you pile in there.

You can buy the fake Adidas, or buy the real deal. Its your choice.

Thanks

Scott

Wondered where this new company had come from with such good kits, not heard of them before.

I'm going to let this go on the basis it would be good to have darkside onboard. Hopefully you'll become a sponsor.

Heard something on the grapevine about someone trying to copy all your stuff. Not good.

Indeed.

Should you need some to have free fitment and development of one your turbo kits just to show what you really can acheive I have either a red or black Fabia you can happily work on ;)

OOOO Cliff, you have 2 VRS now  When are they getting married?

If it makes you guys feel any better, we have the wheels in motion to get a BriSkoda sponsorship sorted, just emailing Jason about it now.

Nice try PastyBoy ;-)

We are going to do a nice package deal for BriSkoda and SeatCupra.net members as well. Keep your eyes peeled for that!
