Uk's biggest bhp fabia

Featured Replies

What turbo have you bought? What mods do you currently have for 250bhp? Other mods to get up to 350bhp?

You have answered most of this.

However, you dont have 250bhp. And even if you did peak bhp doesnt = fast car.

Mods for current bhp are further up there ^^ turbo I got going on possibly is gt28 71 and other all other mods I ain't certain off yet but like I just said 350 really big ask just over 300 be nice

So not variable vane? That will be a bitch of a turbo to tune correctly and drive nice. There's no way I will fit a non VNT turbo unless my car was suddenly to become some kind of drag strip only queen. I'd be wanting 4WD first though in that scenario, before any silly turbo is bolted on.

Go for it... That's all I'm saying.

maybe also have a look at this

340 brake. simples. ;)

Tom.'s car over on Ibiza Owners Club is that ;)

Fastest Ibiza TDi on Ibiza Owners Club is my Ibiza ;)

stop waving your **** about, it's not big, and it's not clever. OK, I dunno if it's big, but stop waving it :D

I think for an actual 350 bhp you're looking at serious breathing plus serious reinforcement of the block or head/block interface.

Have you looked on tdiclub at any lower compression pistons threads? Higher performance cams? have you seen the StingrayRT lupo (Profituning?) on youtube?

J.

There is a se running round stockport, manchester which is 300bhp which jabbasport built, the thing pops and bangs! and yes its diesel still! Speedo goes round faster than the rev counter.

Its not showing off its fact.

My point is below.....

226bhp was the peak power output of my car on two different dyno's on the same day.

Yours big turbo T or running a hybrid? Has Tom managed to hit 300bhp yet?

I seem to remember Garry (Vroomtshh) saying he got his big turbo cupra TDI to 320ish bhp but had to back the boost off so it drove better.

Hybrid PD150 myself, Tom. no idea. Thats his car in the link but after the initial 340bhp he was aiming for, due to no cam being good enough he didnt get that. He doesnt know the power and isnt bothered as it drives well and feels fast to him, so he is happy. He guestimates the power at 280bhp using the well known and accurate bum dyno.

Yeah Gary got some power ;) No idea what he is running however turbo and power wise, but I do remember a old convo if similar figures been spoken.

Mine is at 260bhp at the moment and to be fair it is very driveable, but has had a lot spent on other components to compliment this. So it would seem it is all well and good to have 300bhp for bragging rights but if its not driveable whats the point.

Lovely motor Liams Polo. Big thread about the build on Seatcupranet, and alot of the work done by Badger5 (Bill Brockbank) he knows 1.8T 20V engines inside out and is a nice bloke and a legend.

I keep thinking i should get another fabia now things seem to be becoming available to take them to big power, last time out i had the budget but no one wanted to do anything crazy :(

I had mine on the rolling road at work to map the nitrous. We had one run that showed 485lb/ft of torque. And I ended up with 259bhp.

That sounds cool :) bet that pulls well at 485lbft I would love a bit of nitrous.

We have just got back from dynoing I will photo copy the print outs and show you them. We did stock injectors then firad 80+ we where very pleased with today.

Dean@dirty-torque

I did forget to put that the torque figure was on a standard dmf as well, so we had to turn it down a bit. I'm still on standard injectors, Kev at work has worked his magic lol.

Exactly.

It's not cheap so it depends if you want to spend a LOT of money on a Fabia or buy something quicker that's designed to have more power.

Unless it's just for Santa Pod. Then it can be laggy as hell and a dog to drive on the road, but you do get the kudos of being the fastest Fabia down the quarter mile.

By the way, Dazza66's car once made 285bhp on a rolling road. But that was at AMD and clearly was not accurate. It is as Darren said around 260bhp.

Devonutopia's car is making around 10-15bhp more, but he has not yet managed to set a faster time down the quarter mile.

Having owned a high power Fabia I'm not sure I'd want 300+bhp and huge torque as the car is not really capable of using that kind of power except on track days or Santa Pod. And even on a track day it's not going to corner as well as other high power cars because you have this big heavy engine in a small car. So you end up running expensive tyres (888s or similar) and eating them every 2000 miles.

Which is the best part of owner the underdog car.

I peaked at 240bhp and 480lb.ft @ Jabba a few months ago with nitrous. Need to get rid of the standard downpipe and the nitrous controller should see me to similar figures to jp1mp :)

Every one is getting good figures I'm at work ATM but will post the dyno graphs up when I get time to scan them
