many thanks to all of you for the help with the decision about my flywheel conversion.

i have decide to go with the smf conversion but the prob now is which one?

there are so many conflicting stories about the makes, some say the valeo is spot on but is it good for the mileage? im doing 50k pa

and some say its cheap and not good, some are saying luk and some sachs, so which?

it would appear that maybe its not about the make but who has developed the best one for the job as far as balance etc is concerned.

are some manufactures developing just a unit that fits and not bothering about the right balance or have they all thought of that?

i must say that the darkside developments one sounds good, altho prob the most expensive but is it worth the extra?

has anyone fitted one of theirs?

I was fortunate enough to get mine converted to SMF under waranty at 30 000 miles

As it was under warranty I did not have much choice over brand (It was a hard enough job convincing them not to fit another DMF) - Dealer used Sachs SMF kit.

I am only up at 40 000 miles now so can't comment on long term reliability or life expectancy but no problems so far.

A bit more diesel rattle at idle but otherwise it's all good news.
