Cracked laquer on bonnet, 2 year old VRS

Featured Replies

Did a search but couldn't find anything.

Has anyone else had a problem with the paint laquer? I've noticed a area about 10cm diameter on the side of the bonnet which has a cracked eggshell look and the laquer has started to peel. I never put anything on the bonnet and it's not from bird mess so hoping Skoda will agree it's a defect. The dealer has taken photos today to send off and thinks it will need a full respray. Has this happened to anyone else?

if its only the lacquer it can be repaired without a full respray, simply sand back the damaged top coat using a very fine paper and reapply the lacquer, then blend in with the existing lacquer. painting a whole panel for that seems a little excessive and unless the colour match is perfect it will be obvious on metallic paint.

Thanks Mannyo, good to here it may be easier to sort!

I've just noticed a complete patch of paint missing from near the headlight on mine and the solution from the dealr is to paint the panel - not happy because I know it won't match..........
