That look on people's face when...

Haha.

Very pleasant feeling I'm sure.

I can only liken it to the Alfa Romeo on the slip road the other day. He decided to suddenly get his foot down on the inside lane of the slip road because he didn't like being passed. He didn't stand a chance with my foot planted in 3rd! lol

BRAAAAAAAP BRAAAAAAAAP BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP

Can't feckin' beat it

I've driven some nicer looking cars, but the vRS performance is just stunning for the money !

Heh, heh. Love it. Beat a Subaru WRX away from the lights last night. I don't think for one second he was anywhere near serious, but I bet he thought he didn't have to try too hard to beat the little white hatchback next to him. :giggle:

Beating them away from the lights is boring. Let them have a head start and then go flying past them. its much more embarassing for them lol

+1

I do find it enjoyable to drop 3 gears on the paddles then pull away from the (insert large German saloon here) which came flying up behind you whilst you were trying to overtake slower traffic...

Oh dear...

Oh dear...

Is what the M3 driver says as he's taken to Brown Town by a little Skoda.

No... not even close!

I'll let you guys carry on ;)

While I agree with the vRS being able to beat loads off the line this thread won't go well. Someone no doubt will say you're racing and please think of the children, etc, etc

There is no law stopping you from blasting off from the lights! as long as you don't exceed the speed limit.

As for the original question........

...a twin-charged skoda launches from the traffic lights faster than they can

Puts a properly big smile on my face every time

That is all

I briskly pulled away from traffic lights this morning, I wasn't even trying particularly hard and certainly didn't go anywhere near the 60mph speed limit, but upon reaching a traffic island further up the road, the guy that was behind me at the lights attempted to swerve in front of me - I had to slam the brakes on to avoid a collision.

The look on his face was one of sheer fury

Sometimes I wonder if the vRS creates a certain amount of resentment in some other drivers. (The guy was in a beat-up van that looked as if it wouldn't pass an MOT test)

It happened on the A38/M5 island in Droitwich.

The Road Traffic Act, 1988, Part 1, Section 3 possibly?

;)

I know a guy who got a new Mercedes, he was barreling along the motorway at about 75-80mph, then from nowhere an Octavia VRs passed him, without hesitation, the Merc hit the throttle and steamed past the Skoda.

Then (his words) the Skoda lit up like a disco and the police man stopped him on the hard shoulder for speeding. The police man asked the guy, what were you thinking, the reply was "I wasn't going to let a Skoda pass me" the policeman grinned and said, "they all say that"

It cost the guy 9 points and a £1200 fine!

Part 1, section 3? Isn't this about driving or permitting to drive an HGV without an appropriate licence?

I might be wrong, this is part 1 section 3, it is a rather general statement. How does this effect accelerating from the traffic lights?

Careless, and inconsiderate, driving.

If a person drives a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other public place without due care and attention, or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or place, he is guilty of an offence.]

"Sorry Officer, my foot slipped"

Most of the RTA is open to interpretation. Could also be interpreted that you were racing ;)

Good to know, especially if you are spotted by a copper with zero tolerance.
