Blackline anyone

Featured Replies

no thanks, no zenons or curtain airbags. they are a must have for me, oh and it's a dsg.

Cheeky bar stewards! Take a new black line... Add 2k miles, add first owner, add wear and tear... Increase price!!!

You can't spec options on a Blackline, so xenons or curtain airbags wouldn't be possible anyway.

To be fair, it does have TWO trip computers; that's easily worth an extra few grand...

EDIT - I take it back - it's only got 4 valves. I refuse to buy a car with any less than 5 valves.

The nearly new pricing at main dealers is a joke at the minute. It's blatently a ploy to sell more new ones & getting those unwilling to haggle on the used ones to boost profits.

Why is it available from 02/01/13? Ex demo?

Isn't that the right price? It's £400 for black paint, and £1200 for dsg?

Or am I missing something, as some guys are saying the price is wrong?

my mrs' old man is in car sales and its pretty normal for him to get a new car and have to put 2000 miles on it nefore they can sell it.

They are essentially selling a second hand car with 2000 miles on it for new car money though which is a little cheeky

Sounds like it. They need to keep them for a minimum of 3 months, so that date fits.

Its a demo. as wardy said, 3 months then they can be sold on. You'd hope that by the time the car is available that price would drop though.

N.b. apologies if the lettering is all in 1 case, tapping this off my phone and can't determine upper and lower cases - technology!

This happens all the time, there have even been similar threads on here.

As the car isn't actually available to sell the dealer sticks it up at a high price. What do they have to lose?

Then when it is available to sell they can knock a few hundred quid off it so the poor unsuspecting buyer thinks he's getting a good deal.

It's a win-win situation for the dealer and captures all those buyers who don't do their homework prior to spending the best part of £20K on a new car.

If that's been bought on the demo plan then there's a huge amount of bartering room there. Only problem is that some mug will go and pay far more than they should, which gives the dealer half a chance of getting within a grand of that.

Makes me think my days of buying brand new are long gone. Thems crazy prices......
