Anyone with VCDS near Bristol? Traction/ASR light on permanently.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got a major problem, I have taken a deposit on my car and it's supposed to be being collected on Saturday.

The traction control/ABS light came on this morning (during normal driving) and won't go off.

I need a scan to determine the fault ASAP.

If anyone with VCDS near bristol could pm me I'll happily travel and pay £20 for some beers.

many thanks.

I'm passing on my way to Birmingham on Saturday, if I can be of any use?

ooh its all gonna be about time o day now then

unless its the tevez fault, afaik you can not turn the lights off when it's got that fault

To be clear, I'm not out to stitch anyone up.

At the end of the day if it's got a fault it's got a fault, I don't want to just turn the light off and hope for the best as I'm not like that - and in any case it's a fellow Brisky member.

I just need to know if it's a sensor ot the dreaded abs unit.

Also, to be fair to the person buying it, I need to do it asap as they are expecting to pick it up on Saturday.

If the worst come to the worst, there's and indie I who I know will scan it for £40

I wasn't trying to suggest you we're stitching anyone up mate, I was just saying be prepared that a reset may not fix it

Anyone would do the same as you and try a reset first, and fingers crossed that's all it needs

Hadn't even seen that, but have booked in at an indi for tomorrow afternoon now anyway. 'Only' going to charge me £30 to scan it - speed is of the essence really. :(

If you have ASR as opposed to ESP it will not be the TEVES fault as that relates to ESP only.

sorry, forgot to say thanks to those who offered help.

You're right it is ESP, not ASR - was just typing from memory. too many initials!

This is usually a speed sensor. had mine come on at the Pod due to me doing a burnout with the handbrake yanked up. Speed sensor fault came up on VCDS, but it was just the readout that did it, not an actual flaky sensor.

ooh 41k posts, thats kinda epic mate

Protest for taking him away from my drive :D

He was clearly happy there :)

Boken protest for selling him maybe :D

Goodluck with the fault finding mate, u could try giving it to me and see if it solves it lmao :D
