Would this brake modification work?!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, my question is this! Could you happily fit the rear brake cylinders from the Felicia 1.6/1.9D to a 1.3?

I'm not impressed with the braking performance of my 1.3 Felicia. Driven over 65,000 miles with the original rear shoes, which are still like new with very little wear. This suggests to me that they are doing bugger all work, people agree? :(

The larger engined Felicias use 20.6mm and 22mm rear cylinders, I presume to cope with the extra vehicle weight, especially, the pick-up. Could you safely retrofit them to the 1.3 and which size? As the Felicia is fitted with a system to prevent rear wheel lock up, I presume this would allow the fitment of a more powerful rear braking system and maintain its safety.

Anybody else done this? What do people think and would this be the way forward?
