itunes to sd card

Featured Replies

I'd read a post on here about someone converting their itunes library into mp3 for an SD card. It also mentioned using some other software to keep the library structure in place. I cant bloody find it now! Anyone know the one?

I used Aimersoft DRM Media converter to get iTunes library in format for Android. Easy to use, but it does take long time to convert.

If you are just starting out with iTunes then you can set it to import as MP3 rather than standard AAC. This makes copying to SD card a simple drag'n'drop affair (unless they are rights protected).

If you are already heavily into iTunes then you can get it to create an additional MP3 file that will sit alongside the original. Although this takes time to do it then becomes a matter of moving these extra MP3's to the SD card.

If you go down the third party software route, then you can buy software that will overcome the DRM 'lock' on the file as well.

I shall leave each to make their own decision on the legality if this though...

It does depend upon whether you are using a PC or Mac as to what software you could use.

This has been covered a number of times in the media and political debate. Currently there is no law in UK that prohibits DRM removal. In addition, the music & video industries have both stated that their members will not prosecute format change if it is for personal use.

So if its for personal use it is perfectly ok to reformat.

I made no judgement in my post regarding the actual legal situation in the UK.

I was merely suggesting that the individual needed to take their own stance on the matter.

I personally cannot condone copying music for anything other than personal use in another location (On a Columbus or iPod for example).

Home taping was supposed to 'kill' the music industry back in the 80's, but it still seems to be going strong!

Yeah, I saw an interesting stat in the paper a few weeks ago that book sales were up 4% even with ebook sales increasing dramatically, so overall market was in double digit growth.

I had to do this last night to convert the AAC files to MP3 so I could play them in the car. The converted files are in the same directory as the AAC files.
