Pickup New Car? Free insurance..?

Featured Replies

I arranged the 7 day cover on my Yeti. Arranged it on the Friday so the dealers could tax and register it, and then collected the car on the saturday.

Once I'd got it home, I rang my insurers for my old car (LV), got a £93 refund and they emailed me the insurance certificate. I then called Skoda Insurance to cancel the 7 day cover. All seemed fairly effortless.

Still can't understand why the Yeti is cheaper to insure than my Mondeo was, being a more powerful car.

I'm sure you won't worry about it - just enjoy! :sun:

Because the Yeti is cheaper to repair, cause less damage to the occupants, thereby reducing personal claims, and is also perceived as a safer car to drive.

Power output has very little to do with it now; it looks at a much bigger picture.
