What to get next after a 1.9TDI Elegance.

Wow, 33 and you need all that luxury?

I'm 44 and sorry, but I'd not even consider a L&K, waay too bland. It's a VRS all the way for me, handling and looks are just superior.. I've got a well equipped car, but even so, my previous car was much higher specced - tbh you soon realise you can move your own seats rather than rely on buttons and the like.

33, but I do over 30,000 miles a year.

The vRS is brill for the first, say 15,000 miles, then during those dark frosty mornings and dark nights the soft suspension, standard xenons, heated leather, MFSW etc. etc. on the L&K remind me that looks ain't all that and the great handling of the vRS is wasted on the motorway.

I'm not saying the vRS isn't a good car or I wouldn't be driving one, I'm just saying that it isn't the best Octavia for everyone.

I enjoy reading this thread - just wondering what is 'necessary' for Octavia owners. I just ordered mine and it's a Family + version, which means that I get the radio cd and air con, electric windows and the onboard computer. But not Maxi Dot. Rear parking sensors and alloys. That's all I need. I struggle to think of what else is necessary. So I'm interested to hear from other owners what is worth having in their view.

Xenon headlights, curtain airbags and a full size spare wheel

Auto-wipers

Auto-dimming rear view mirror

Headlight washers

Parking Sensors

Lots of audio input options.

These are the things i would really miss in a new car

I spend most of my driving going up and down the motorways around the country so the comfort/luxury takes over from the performance :) I would have a VRS if i wasn't doing 2000+ miles a month on the motorways!

In order of excellence -

1. Xenon headlights

2. Cruise control

3. Electrically adjustable memory drivers seat

4. Auto dimming rear view and wing mirrors

5. Heated Leather Seats

6. Parking sensors

I can take or leave auto headlights and auto wipers.

I want most of the options which is why I went for an L&K with Columbus, and then upgraded the firmware and maps and self-fitted bluetooth and the fl climate switches. I can't order these easily but I now feel I need all the following!

leather memory seats

parking sensors

cruise

climate

navigation

bluetooth

xenons

auto wipers

trip computer

electric windows and mirrors

I'd have liked a sunroof too, but couldn't find an L&K with one near enough to me.
