some how i dont think the ihi will still be producing power at 7500rpm tbh,i think it will tail off before then, say 6500-6700 at the latest off the top of my head!

It should be capable of pushing the engine to the limiter, then generating fault codes

The gearbox is going to be your limiting factor, LCR ratio are too short for mid sized turbos tbh - run of out gear range before boost - gets very frustrating - particularly with a lsd diff

Considering the $ you must have spent - it'd be a very good invest to change the ratios - 5 speed set from a O2J + a diesel 6th

i forgot to put it in the first post but the box has taller gears,6th gear is 2700rpm at 70mph,it feels like its geared for about 170+mph!!!

thanks clive,it meens alot to get nice feedback from members on here, especially those who know way more than i do about these cars! or any other car for that matter!!! you may also be interested in jtech automotives "wasted spark kit" for the 1.8t....its basically 4 custom HT leads which go onto a single ford focus (might be wrong) coil pack..said to be more reliable and a stronger spark. that will really tidy up the cam cover to,no big coilpacks sticking up to ruin the smoothness!! its about £160 for the bits aaparently..i'm gonna get it once i have the funds.

yeah j-tech are not far from me been watching some of there builds really nice stuff coming from them

im running the 2.0ltr tfsi coil packs but if i start having issues i will do it that way!!

you get nice feedback as you are building such a nice car buddy

Thought I recognised the car from Combe.

Looking good. :)

17042012406.jpgthe finished article..crashbar powdercoated, intercooler polished (again),core cleaned and painted! this all took ages but if you look at the cut lines on the crash bar you'll see how tidy they are and thus where the time went!!!

02052012461.jpg the front bumper mounted with bumper cut out! i did'nt take any pictures of the bumper cutting because i just had it painted a few weeks beforehand and did'nt want to make a kok of it! needless to say it took a couple of hours to cut the freshly painted bumper, then i cut the mesh and left it to set with a book holding it down overnight! i used KENT screenfix to bond the mesh into place, slightly flexible and its black,so easy on the eye!even if i say so,it looks ace on a black car especially with the grille painted black aswell!

Looks the dogs danglers mate. I have a widemouth on mine and have just used bowders guide to mesh my bonnet grille aswell so it all matches.

What intercooler is that you have fitted mate ?
