Any welders on here who can fit my EGR?

I've just bought a spare EGR (ASR engine).

I'm hoping to get the internals removed and the hole welded up to provide a clean straight through (as seen previously on here).

Can anyone on here provide this service?

Be easier to chop the flange off and weld a pipe on

Not sure what you mean exactly?

if you put a short bolt/screw thro' the exhaust blanking plate outside to in---then just fill the hole with epoxy

That's an EGR delete, I don't want that a I want to keep it OEM looking and want to keep my ASV.

The problem is your asking somebody to weld Ally, which is a hard job in the first place, even harder so that it's cast ally which will be full of crap and make the job harder to do.

Why not just blank it off at the manifold? and map it out? Or turn it down via vagcom?

it's hidden under the engine cover, so looks OEM. isn't the flap you want to remove for the ASV?

To be honest I haven't given it a huge deal of thought as I was under the impression it was a fairly common and easy thing to do?

I'll dig out the threads where users have done this and contact them direct.

I don't want to go down the delete route as you lose the ASV.

I'm going down the pipe blank and mapped out route, and was gunna do this on top to make it a proper job, as (already mentioned) I thought it was an easy job.

Just to confirm, on an ASR engine it's a vagcom adjustment, rather than a map tweak like BLT?

I'm not too sure on this to be honest. I thought it could be mapped out on both. But someone else will be able to confirm this

Yeah I get you now. The ASV and EGR are in one unit on your engine as opposed to separate on the BLT.

Ah right I see, I thought your's was a BLT engine hence the above suggestion by myself.
