Arctic blast from the North by the end of the week.

Featured Replies

I've spent the last 3 winters on summer tyres and so have my parents (Polo and a Merc) - never had any problems. As some have already said it's down to how you adapt to what you're driving. Luckily I'm on 185/60/14 Avon ZV3s so although summer tyres, I stand half a chance as per usual, and if worst comes to worst, I've got alternatives to driving. I've always found that keeping a shovel and a pair of boots in the car at all times seemed to stop me getting stranded. Karma I suppose?

Well my forecasting was total rubbish.

It is now almost down graded to 'a wee cold breeze blowing from the north and a few flurries of snow down the east coast.'.

Certainly not 'From the East the snow will blow and from the west the snow will go.'

Bloomin baltic here tonight

It's a bit nippy down here too now. Definitely colder than last year, got a lot of leaves going down too making the roads really slippy. Bought a squirty bottle of deicer today so I'm all prepared ;)

Looks like fun from Monday though....

I've not seen, what's a coming? As long as I can get to Stoneyhaven end of next week I'm happy. I think I'll wait until I'm back before the car gets a bath though!

C4 weather tonight suggests it's going to be bad from Monday.

Apparently the top end of Scotland have had their first dump of snow now... I'm getting excited :D

A little bit of a generalisation maybe.

You would have to ask what was more like the Carribean this summer, part of Essex or the Outer Hebrides.?

I know where the tourists went.

Tourists wouldn't go to Essex regardless of the weather

Fair point! I'll be flying south over the outer Hebrides in about 2 hours.

I've been on the west coast a few times this year - Oban, Mull, Skye etc and weather has always been good.

Is Dundee not the sunniest city in the UK?

The junkies all have the sun kissed look.

NE Scotland tends to be pretty dry anyway since the hills to the West take the brunt of the rain/snow. Tends to be pretty feckin cold in the winter for the same reasons
