Cheap EGR Delete *last chance*

Featured Replies

Thank-you for your analysis.

Yes, like a lot of English people you want something for nothing - sales mentality

something for nothing? i love how your just been whole negative about it to start off with! It's a good piece of kit and is good value for the money! Its not the fact of the cost of labour or parts. Its allard what just put a bigger mark up on just so they can make more money.

Could a nice mod please come and clear this thread up as these comments have made it complete nonsense.

- Peace.

I can see where you are coming from in a way. However i'd of been more tact with my wording.

I think what you should have mentioned is, sure anyone can copy anyone's design but...the initial R&D etc is what is the initial outlay cost is put towards and that isnt cheap nor free! by any means. So you effectively get a product and copy it.

ATEOD i wasn't happy with forges EGR and in hindsight would have happily paid for this kit.

Something for nothing unfortunately had a play in the downfall of this country, but I'm not 100% with you on this.

Sorry to bring this back on thread, but as a new GB has started I thought I'd ask a question before adding my name.

Is this all I need? or do I need to re-map and get the cooler pipe mod as well?

Sorry for the noob question.

you may need the light mapping out but it wont effect anything by having the light on there. For the MOT it may fail depending how well you know the tester due to showing a "fault" light.

You will require to either chop the current pipe down or buy a 90 degree bend to fully fit.

HTH :)

Great, not so bothered about a light!

Can it be coded out with a vag com?

No mate, don't think so. I have turned it off before with my handheld code reader. But after about 10-20 mins of driving around it comes back up. And as joelk said. You will need a 90 degree silicone hose aswell. Top bit of kit for the price.

And before you think you've knackered the car up. Once fitted and turning the car off, the car will feel like a shudder or stall. Its nothing to worry about, its just the fact you took the egr off what makes it do this.

Tactfully said..........Sure anyone can copy anyone's design but...the initial R&D etc is what is the initial outlay cost is put towards and that isnt cheap nor free! by any means. So you effectively get a product and copy it - which is what this product is!

English people want something for nothing?. No we are just not gullible and don't like paying over the odds for tat especially in these austerity ridden times. Maybe your from Germany where the economy is booming?.

No, I am English but you can see why German car manufacturing is so buoyant - it's because they invest in R&D!!

Can anyone recommend something to block the boost nipple until I get a boost gauge. Am going to get a delete kit in the current group buy.

Thanks.

a small screw

Who cares what they are earning in hungary, if its cheaper for us to then it doesnt matter. End of the day we want quality and price comparison and this one is the best of both.

John do you work for allard or this proparts by any chance?

Do you work for the organisation offering the group buy??

Wouldn't put a screw in it, won't seal it properly at all.

What size 90 degree bend would I need if I wanted to replace the existing one?

Cheers.

57mm reducing to 51mm

Okay thank you.

Do people advise buying a new 90degree bend or just chopping the standard one down?

I'd probably just chop mine down again mate but don't use an angle grinder like I did, I should have seen how they're put together before going full on mad man with the machine haha. Maybe get in there with a screwdriver and prised the metal clips off not cut them off. Trying to source another for cheap but people are charging lots.
