Possible bad mark against skoda fabia 1.2htp clutch!

Featured Replies

Have a skoda fabia 1.2htp, brought the car at 48k miles (53 reg) a year or so ago, slight judder at clutc...

, anyways over the last year i have done 10k miles, and just had the clutch replaced a day or two ago, because the judder had got a hell of alot worse and im looking to sell the car, anyway, book it in at mercedes to have the clutch replaced - i supplied the clutch kit myself.

anyways all went swimmingly, spoke to mechanic (a friend) today when collecting the vehicle, to find out the cause of the judder, and it was down to the clutch release bearing breaking, into two! and may other bits too! and was pushing against the springs, which aparently what would of happened in the next 2-3 weeks was the bearing would have worn all the way through the springs and i would have had no clutch at all!

how about that for a close call! and i commute 40 miles a day to work!

anyone had a similar problem?

Cheers Jack
