Skoda Extended Warranty

Featured Replies

Interested in peoples thoughts

My cars already over 60K in 2 years & will be kept for at least another 2 or until the Octy 3 Scout is being discounted & with thoughts of dropping one out of the fleet mileage per month will increase so mileage will be substantial

On the face of it the warranty whilst it only covers the big bits does look value for money, one turbo in that time which is it would appear quite possible & its more than paid for

Anyone any thoughts good or bad.

I prefer the Skoda warranty offered through the dealer rather than any 3rd party ones even if cheaper

Thanks in advance

This is the Elita warranty. I had it on the Fabia back when I got that.

To be honest it covered all the relevant things for me when I got that car - drop links, heater flap failure, leaking door seals etc but it doesn't cover body defects like flaking paint for example. I was happy enough with it and luckily the dealer agreed to fix all my complaints under it (this was FR Pulleyn in York back then).

My dealer quoted me £375 for extended warranty that is supposed to cover everything just like the 3 year warranty?

I was dubious about it so didn't bother in the end. Warranty Direct are ok but you have to really read the small print with them.

It does'nt cover everything, a lot is excluded, items that you expect to wear, ie seat covers, wont cover rattles worn door hinges etc etc & has clauses to cover performance dropping as the car ages but does cover all the nasty bits. Overall It looks a reosnable insurance against a huge bill. Anyone considering it do it sooner rather than later as the initial premium is tied into the mileage when you start it, Ive missed 72K & its cost me about 25% more. Its also transferable so could be a selling feature as well

The car also has to have a check by the dealer before the policy can be signed up, my dealer does that FOC but I can see others might charge
