Fabia vRS 40K Service

Featured Replies

Took it in to Caffyns (Ashford) on Thursday. Very good service. They adjusted the drivers door as water was coming in around the lower part of the door seal. Also the rear wheels were stuck tight (again) so they managed to get them off.

I was fairly surprised that nothing else needed to be replaced. Tyres, brakes are original. So the 40k service cost

40K already WOOT!!!!!!!!!! How long have u had ur car!??

Mines 16mths now and still not passed 14K.

Wow

Matt

i was tempted by them, but found them to be a tadd OTT with prices when i rang about replacing my cracked/busted wing mirror, so stuck with Adamsons (Deal). & I get a loan car.

If they are not too far give them a call next time.

"T31 VRS" 's car was purchased in October 2003 - hence it possibly had an early 24 month brake fluid change too?

Was going to add they probably did a brake fluid change (due every 40k miles?) as well which maybe why the wheels came off..... :D

Chris

replace spark plugs

Let's hope not!!! ;)

Did you see my response above yours? Brake fluid is time not mileage dependent. Wheels would potentially have to come off to check brake pad wear.

Ive just had my 40k today (along with a few other bits n bobs) - at a not-so-local friendly dealer ;):D

Airfilter

Oilfilter

FuelFilter

pollen filter

oil change

and a big inspection of bits n bobs, brakes, fuel lines etc etc.

Worth going a bit further afield for good service?

Does it? Perhaps we could have the full breakdown because working on those figures (assuming both are VAT inclusive) you're being charged

There was some spreadsheet posted a while back that gave estimated servicing costs..

(note the word *estimated* as costs vary across the country.. eg Horners customers like moi get a 10% discount on parts)

Yes - I see your profile says your location to be "Around Here" - can't find it at Streetmap! :)

IIRC around northamptonshireeee/milton keynes, down that neck o woods

Go to SkodaUK's website here, select Business Sales, Fleet Management, then download the Fabia spreadsheet (you will need Excel on your PC for this). Put in the appropriate labour rate - the default is

The Skoda spreadsheet (referred to above) says

I'd paid for the first two services in advance when I bought the car new from Brooklyn (Alcester). Can't remember how much that was.
