Heated Mirror issues

Featured Replies

I can't help but notice that my heated mirrors don't work. It's the one where the switch has L, L+R and then the heated one at the top, when the top on is selected, no heat to either mirror. Checked the fuse and that's fine. Any ideas guys?

Might need full new glass or could be a faulty wire into the mirror, not sure if you can check the connector on the glass with a multimeter of some sorts, or what you would be looking for if they're working.

Might be easier to see if ebay or TPS can get you the new glass. Take the old ones out (carefully!) and get the part numbers if you want to order them. Even your local dealer can get them in, just don't let them fob you off with fitting costs!

The heated mirrors are readily available on ebay -they do break down after time. I have recently changed both of mine - just take care when replacing, try not to force anything !! Dont pay more than £15 each delivered -

If you get low, a few ohms reading then that morror is okay, if you get high - ie 100s or 1000s of ohms, then the heater tape is burnt out and you are just reading across the charred material below the burnt out heater tape.
