Cotton filter whistle

Featured Replies

It may be dirty but I bet the standard filter is still clean on the upstream side, what was the Green filter like?

10/20k - nope' date=' as posted 7000-10000 kilometers between cleaning.

It is ESSENTIAL to clean it then however as otherwise it will go wrong.[/quote']

It won't go wrong - it just won't filter as well as it should! Mine was cleaned after 15k miles cos I don't like working on the car in the winter :o

Chris

I've only just fitted the Green filter - cannot comment on how it behaves yet on the 'need-to-clean' - It's done 300 miles since fitting it so I'd expect it to be clean.

On the 'go wrong' - sorry I didnt phrase that very well. What I should have said is that it reduces the airflow. Not sure if more dust particles would go through I must admit though

Got my filter fitted :D

There IS a difference, didn't think I would notice anything, but the car pulls better and smoother, particularly from low revs. Seems to sound a little different, but thats only really noticeable when revved at idle, when it's a little gruffer.

Impressed though, and a big  here.

Only standard 1.4 tdi here and I can recommend it also  not much improvement in top performance but the car responds to accelerator quicker and makes the car feel more lively at low rpm. BTW, adjusting EGR with vag-com will also help low-rpm performance. ;)

The Green Filter made it a little easier to rev.

The Cupra intake made it a bit easier still.

The strut brace appeared to make zero difference to me, but as I've now bought & fitted it it's gonna stay ;)
