I've been away this weekend and I took my D300 as per usual, but I wasn't really feeling it. I felt a bit tired and lazy and I just didn't want to lug it around, so I thought I'd give the new iPhone a go. I never thought I would say a phone camera was at all good, but to be fair it is possible to get a good photo out of it. Still no standalone camera, but in the right conditions it's not a bad second best. Here are a few testers

Fountains Abbey in floodlights..... less good in low light obviously, but still not terrible...

Seems to pick up the contrast, highlights, and colour quite well in daylight!

How does the Panorama work? just shoot and move?

Yeah, just start it, move along then stop it when you're ready

I've been really impressed with the iPhone 5 camera.

The best camera is the one that you have with you of course!!

Yeah I used my old one for the odd snap when you're just there in the moment but its quite nice to get something that might actually pass as a photograph haha!
