Fabia vrs suspension and handling parts help

Featured Replies

Hello all, I have a remapped car which is running around 175bhp and I also need to change the ball joints, track rod ends, drop links, and possibly the bushes... Now my question is as my car is remapped with the obvious torque increase would I just replace the parts with original oem ones or would you be able recommend some quality/upgraded ones for a good price (I'm a student so funds are limited) also I plan to lower my car in the future so would i be better off buying and fitting shortened drop links on the standard set up until I get the coilovers?

Thanks in advance :)

Come on guys any help here?

OEM will be fine :)

Some people upgrade to Ibiza Cupra wishbone bushes but its not a necessity

Or the revised 4 prong wishbone bushes?

Look on http://www.vwspares.co.uk/fabiasuspension.php for spares. Seems to be cheaper than the dealer prices and all the parts they supply tend to be from Meyle or Febi/Bilstein so good quality. You can also get Meyle HD range parts which are uprated to be more durable.

Thanks for your input guys... What about the drop links? Should I get shortened ones or standard will be fine?

You won't be able to run shortened drop links on the standard set-up. If you plan on lowering the car in future get all the bits and do them at the same time. You can then get the alignment/geometry checked and set up properly without any changes still to be done. If you need to fit droplinks for the short term you can get a set cheap off ebay and get shortened ones with the new suspension. Alternatively get adjustable drop-links from DPM performance then you can set them up up whatever way. Will probably not cost any less though.
