Its a great unit realy enjoying it. it has a few problems on the map but nothing big. also the update could do to be more than once a second but other than that its great i like the dynamics mode with the speedo and things anyway thought it was about time i did some pics

The head unit looks very tidy in your Fabia. I used to have the same one in my Passat, they are very good value for money and excellent systems

i used to have a 7" motorised screen in my last car, the only bad points were the screen getting in the way of some buttons and the size of it when folded away.

be very careful where you use it, mine lasted all of 3 weeks before the screen got nicked

I'm tempted by one of these, but the only one I've seen in the flesh was in a retailers and it had obviously been poked about a fair bit.

How robust is the screen when it's open? Any rattles?

Has anybody with any long-term experience of these any comments about the screen's reliability after 9 months or so?

Yeah, i've had many of these types of screens. I had this particular one for about 7 months, and it was still in mint condition. No rattles or anything. Just treat them with care, and they will last a long time.

Saying that however, I had the Alpine 900 screen... the top of the range Alpine one, and the drive motor went after about 3 months... but it was replaced under warrenty.

so far i have had it for 2 months and its fine not a problem at all with it i just need to learn how to use it lol i may not keep it tho it depends

do you know if the touch screen has an output, i need to find a decent in dash lcd to drive my carpc

eh and output to what ?? surely if you want it as a screen not a source ??
