Any FL Roomster owners in Midlands?

Featured Replies

Specifically those with fog lights fitted.

Any chance of meeting up with you as I would like to see if your fog light inserts will fit a pre-FL bumper.

I have a cunning plan B)

I don't think that they will fit. Take a look below :

Good point stratsog. The pre-facelift round fogs could be a viable option though looking at those pics.

I'll try the standard inserts from my father in laws roomster in my scout at the weekend and report back.

Without betting my head, I think that these round foglights are the same as VW Polo, Skoda Fabia MK1 Vrs and Skoda Felicia ones.

By the way, if both yours and your father's in law are pre facelifted there is a great possibility (almost sure) that they witll fit in your car. If one is facelifted and the other not then there is almost no matching opportunity.

Both ours are pre facelift. His does not have foglights, my thinking is that if the foglight blanks from his poverty spec roomster fit in my Scout bumper then I can be reasonablely confident in the round fogs from a pre facelift '3' spec will fit

Yes, I do really think that this is going to be a perfect match. But I think that round foglights (as square ones) comes with their proper housing. Their part numbers are 5J08536669B9 (right) and 5J08536659B9 (left). Then from the bay of e you can also have your round foglights. An example here.

Plus you can attach your square foglights to your's father in law roomster, Except from your square foglights and their housing you are going to need wiring, new light switch and a kind of resistance - jumper (I really do not remember) in order to cheat - fool the ECU or else warning light will appear. The other way is to take cars to Skoda dealer and let them perform the operations.

You can find light switch and housing from scrap yards. It is the same as fabia's (housings and switch) and many other Skoda and VW models (only light switch).

Well I think you are going to have your project in a short period of time, then please post some photos.

I am 95% certain that the pre-FL Roomster and Scout versions use the same bumper underneith with just stick-on rugged look over-lays (to keep costs down)........(saw an exploded diagram on the parts computer at Dealership re these...

However after the facelift they used different bumpers for the Scout (but taken from the scout version of the Fabia estate....so production costs came down)

Shaping up to be a nice little project this one. Already have the yellow Lamin-X as I was going to re-tint the square lights when I started thinking about the round ones on the face lift Scout B)

I'll update with pictures in my project thread B) B)

Stratosg you are a legend!! I have a growing list of parts to get from my local dealer.

I don't suppose you can let me know part numbers for the rubber covers for the rear of the headlights?

EDIT: Found a UK Supplier for the fog light surrounds and for £10 each.... they're on their way :giggle:

a. No I am not a legend, your Roomster is a Legend. I just enjoy watching others do things that I would like to do but I am unable to. Plus I get the excitement and really feel happy as it was done for my car.

b. I am not involved in car's market in any way. I just made a little search in the net. Glad they are on their way though.

I like every bit of your car. Most favorite is the roofbox. I will keep an eye on your project.
