Bolero playing 320kbps mp3 from SD card

Featured Replies

I have had a new Octavia for a few months and my only gripe is that sometimes the Bolero skips to the next mp3 track before the current track has completed. On mp3s with a fixed bit rate it skips to the next track when the count down of how much is left to play reaches 0:00 (i.e. it has calculated the length of the tack too short and skips when that time is reached).

Generally the length it calculates is around 2:40 for any track longer than this time, but for shorter tracks the calculation and play is fine.

This seems to only happen when the mp3s have been encoded at 320kbps, other encoding rates seem fine. All the mp3s were purchased from 7digital.com and work perfectly with every other player I own.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem.

Cheers

Nope, i've had a 13 minute 320kbps track happily play until the end, and never had a track cut off short.

An Octy cab driver told me that it only works okay if you load the tracks from iTunes.

Is this correct?

Nope, that's b0llocks. I don't own anything made by Apple and that goes for any programs either. I literally just copy music files them onto my card from the hard drive on my laptop.

If you're having problems, perhaps it's the firmware. My Bolero has the latest revision (it says 'SW 0054' on the back in the centre as 54's the latest revision at time of writing and it was an almost brand new unit) so mine is completely up to date. Might pay to check yours as dealers can upgrade the firmware to this quite easily. Check on here for other threads about this.
