Can someone with a standard VRS just explain when cruising at 20mph what happens with the power delivery when fully accelerating up to the red line(staying in 3rd)

Reason being I've just bought a VRS and I'm now thinking it has been mapped.

Ad said. Torque spike around the 2 k mark then flat. Ie feel no power. Mapped car will have no spike (map dependant) but just a smooth power delivery.

Yup mines mapped now, and feels alot smoother and power goes on for longer.

As above, big spike at 2k then all over by 4k

hmmmmmm, appears it's been mapped, accelerates very smoothly up to 4k+ but bottled going further. That's a few hundred quid saved that I can put towards more tat then

Surely not.... I'm gonna have time a run next time I'm on the motorway as I reckon my standard vRS is quicker than that?! (The 19 second bit)

It's probably around 9 seconds for the standard vRS 40-80mph

Im thinking mine has been remapped but really not sure. It pulls the same from 2k to the red line and doesnt tail off so is it likely its remapped? I went from 70 to 120+ leaving it in 6th in pretty much no time,do they pull like **** like that as standard???

Easy to find out using something like VCDS. Just log group 1. Standard should be injecting around 47mg at 4krpm.

Who lives where that fancies driving mine or taking me out in there's to see? I'm ready to remap it but don't want to spend money if its already been done

Take it to a tuner, they`ll tell you before they map it.

Will they not mind doing this?? I emailed jabbasport on Thursday about getting remapped but don't want to waste thier time
