LED Number Plate Lights

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Any idea if either of these http://www.autoledshop.com/index2.php?cid=722&pcatid=792 are likely to fit a Fab vRS ??

The black VW one appears to clip in and the VW Touran one is obviously screw in.

Oh, and they are quite expensive.

Ta.

... and the Fabia vRS needs a screw-in one, having just had a look.

Edit - the Number Plate Light housing is screw in, the bulb clips in.

yep exactly. I find it odd though that it lists the golf and the polo for the clip in version. Does the golf and the polo really have clip in number plate lights or is it just these OEM replacements ??

Them ones above would be fine. I just bought some 42mm canbus bulbs and they were fine.

They don't even need to be canbus friendly ones tbh.

Mine weren't and lasted over 3 years.

Damn, I meant festoon not canbus! They don't need to be canbus this saves you money!

I bought some Xtec ones off ebay not that long ago and i have just noticed 2 out of the 4 leds are not working so im now after anything that is bright and is going to last. I liked the look of the ones i listed originally but i am not sure either of the versions would fit...

Technically illegal. Has to be said.

According to who??

Cars come new with LED reg plate bulbs.. BMW/ Audi/ Merc have for years...

New VW Mk6 Golfs + Scirrocos come with them from factory...

Nothing in the MOT rulebook against them...

Iv had mine fitted for over 2 years with no problems...

Only illegal as they aren't likely to be E marked.

I suspect the OE items are.

As long as they aren't blue or some other daft colour then you'll

be fine. I had 3 MOTs with mine in and it was never mentioned.

38mm length fits better in the holders in my experience.

I've never been pulled for them either. They are brighter and makes the plates easier to read from experience.

I got mine from Halfrauds so will be E marked + legal

And ive also had some off ebay that were exactly the same as the hafrauds ones (except one broke after a week lol)..

There so cheap to buy "E" ones im pretty sure nobody will even bother making non E ones + selling them..

Other than the "E" rule which would apply to anything u can fit to ur car..

There is NOTHING illegal about LED reg plate bulbs before people start scare mungering (AGAIN)

Lol :D
