VCDS

Featured Replies

Until yesterday I owned a Disco 3 with everything being electronic and it being one of the early ones there were lots fault codes but in the seven years of ownership I never got round to buying a diagnostics tool. This would have saved ££££££ at the dealer. I have a net book sitting unused and wanted to known what is the best way into the world of VCDS. I don't want to cut the dealer out completely I just want to diagnose faults if any appear.

www.ross-tech.com will tell you what you need to know, buy it from an authorised UK dealer like Gendan. Don't be tempted to buy a hooky one from another site just because they're a bit cheaper.

For an Octy MK2 you'll need a cable that has full canbus HEX+CAN support.

Why don't you just get a cheap can bus fault code reader?
